Eleven glazed ceramic pots of various sizes, containing rescued bird’s nests
Francisco Oller Art Museum Collection
The bird’s nest is the bed formed with branches, straw, herbs, feathers, and other materials that birds use to incubate their offspring. Generally, they’re concave in shape and are found in trees. They are associated with security, abundance, and life. In this work, the artist creates a composition using nests that she found and placing them in ceramic vessels crafted on a pottery wheel.
