The Commemorative Portfolio of the First Centenary of the Abolition of Slavery in Puerto Rico was published in 1973 by the Scholarship Foundation for Fine Arts in San Juan, Puerto Rico. It is composed of nine prints, four of which are woodcut and five linocuts. The prints were made in the workshops of the Romualdo Real Printmaking Cooperative and in the printmaking workshops of the Community Education Division. It is a unique edition of 125 images over paper “Rives BFK”. In some of these prints, the union of written word and image is visible, an aspect which won international recognition amongst Puerto Rican printmaking.
