Rafael Tufiño was one of the integral artists in the Community Education Division (DIVEDCO). He began as a designer and illustrator in 1951 and was director of the Graphics Arts workshop between 1957 and 1963. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the DIVEDCO, Tufiño designs the commemorative poster that reflects the community work done by rural populations. This drawing was the sketch for that poster and was inspired by a photograph taken in a documentary where a community of neighbors is gathered, sitting in a circle, sharing a shared reading of one of the Libros para el pueblo (Books for the people). The congregated group in a circle is one of the illustrations most representative of the educational and social outreach of the DIVEDCO.
